We've had an Ooma phone for a few years now. Works great. You can get an Uninterruptable Power Supply to plug in your Ooma and router and then you are good for a while when the power goes out. After than you are stuck with your cell phone (until their batteries die).

Good luck with the book, I look forward to reading and reviewing it - I've been very impressed by your posts in the past.

Ooma Telo - how different is it from MagicJack (which I use)? Any advantages?
The views I express here are entirely my own and not necessarily those of any other rational person or organization. However, I strongly recommend that you agree with pretty much everything I say because, well, I'm right. Most of the time. Except when I'm not, in which case, you shouldn't agree with me.
