After my post about open source licensing, someone commented on the WTFPL, and it instantly became my favorite open source license.
In the comments on the Law of Demeter post (which got posted on reddit.com by the way –thanks), someone also mentioned Peganza, a Delphi code analyzing tool, which will run a static analysis on your code and give you a report on it, including information about the “Law-of-Demeter-ness” of your code. CodeHealer will do much of the same thing. Both are great products, but I’d be remiss in pointing out that many of you have Audits and Metrics built right into your IDE, which will provide you that same information. These are tools that should be used a whole lot more than they are.
Hey, Delphi won the Code Project’s Members Choice Award for Programming Languages. Nothing to sneeze at. Plus, it looks like Embarcadero had a booth at TechEd 2011 as well. Cool.
I will admit to spending a short amount of time believing the rumor that Microsoft was going to open source VB6. And it seems like I wasn’t the only one. I believe it all started here as a tweet by Roy Osherove.
