About Me

I am Nick Hodges and this is my website.  I am the Product Development Manager at Gateway Ticketing.  We provide ticketing, access control, and revenue generation tools for the biggest theme parks, zoos, water parks, bus lines, and ferries in the world.   We are serious about being serious about software development, and so we are always looking for excellent developers to join our team.  If you are an excellent developer, then please contact me.  

I'm a software developer at heart, and as a development manager, am still very heavily involved in the profession.  I've been a Pascal/Delphi developer for over twenty years, and still think that Delphi is the best development tool out there.  I love to read programming books, attend conferences, watch cool videos about new programming techniques, and generally trying to be an industry thought leader.  

I have a great job and great kids.  I love my job, I work with great people. I love where I live. I love Jesus. Things are going pretty well for me, I'd say.

  • I was born in Baltimore, Maryland
  • I have piloted an aircraft (an FA-18 specifically) past the sound barrier, to Mach 1.03
  • I have never had a drop of coffee in my life and never intend to.
  • I was a Classical Languages major in college and taught high school Latin for two years
  • I was a Naval Intelligence Officer for 12 years
  • I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
  • I was a high jumper at my small college, clearing a height of 6'4".

  1. Clipmate -- Manages your clipboard and never forgets anything you put there.
  2. Everything -- Incredibly useful file search tool.  Searches only by name, but I find that's what I want to do most of the time. 
  3. Evernote -- I use this to keep all kinds of stuff -- text, mostly, but all kinds of stuff -- in 'the cloud".
